TRAINING

The Round Meadow Farm Vision

Round Meadow Farm was conceived in 1977 out of the Bloom family’s love of horses. Whether it be a top Competition Horse, or the family’s small Palomino pony, excellent care of the horse was the cornerstone of the Round Meadow Farm operation. Nicole Bloom-Norris has carried her family’s commitment forward into her own training operation in Northern California.

Building lasting relationships with clients and their horses over the last 20 years, Nicole has established a hunter/jumper training program founded in excellent horsemanship and family values. Round Meadow Farm’s students have consistently earned Regional and National Championships as well as top placings in Regional and National Medal Finals. A focus on setting the short term goals needed to reach long range dreams has led many riders to exceed their expectations in the Hunter, Jumper and Equitation arenas.

Round Meadow Farm’s team works with top level Veterinarians, Farriers and Equine Chiropractors to ensure their equine partner’s ability to compete in top form. “Team RMF” focuses on showing in California and the West Coast, making special trips to Canada, Kentucky and the East Coast for Medal Finals and International Competition.

About Team RMF
Nicole Norris,  head trainer

Nicole (née Bloom) became passionately involved with horses as a young girl and has been dedicated to the equestrian sport ever since. She has had the honor of working with many of the masters in the industry, including Karen Healey, George Morris, Jimmy Williams, Susan Hutchinson, Frank Madden and Carleton Brooks. As a young rider, Nicole was a member of the Zone 10 silver medal team at the North American Young Riders Championships, and competed in the prestigious National Medal Finals at the Fall Indoor Shows. As an adult, Nicole has earned several year-end Championships in the rated Hunter divisions and competed internationally in World Cup Competition.  Her professional career has been focused on helping horses and riders develop competitive showing combinations.  Whether it be a first Short-Stirrup Class, or an International Competition, Nicole's attention to detail shines through.

Nicole credits the strength of her student/coach relationships to her straightforward approach and her love of working with students from the beginning. Identifying short and long term goals helps direct the path that each student takes, and Nicole believes that developing long term relationships with her students encourages learning through trust and confidence.

Nicole is the President of the California Professional Horseman's Association, and sits on the board of the California Professional Horseman's Association Foundation.  She is also a proud member of the United States Equestrian Federation, the Pacific Coast Horse Show Association, the California Professional Horse Shows Association, the USET, and the ASPCA.

ROSE CARVER
ASSISTANT TRAINER/RIDER

Born and raised a “Horse Girl” in San Diego, Rose was a working student as a pre-teen and teenager. She segued that knowledge into her eventual ownership of Maple Leaf Farm at the Del Mar Horsepark while simultaneously attending USD from 2002-2005. After graduation, she began Touchstone Stables, which allowed her to expand her resume to include many year end championships including the leading WCHR Developing Pro (Southwest) in 2015. Her teaching style mirrors that of her riding, with a calm and studied demeanor that both our students and horses have come to know and love.

CAMILLE SCHENK
Barn Manager/Coach

Camille brings 19 Years of Riding Experience with her to our program,  growing up as a working student in San Diego and later working as an intern in several barns while attending college. A graduate of Centenary College with a Bachelor’s degree in Equine Studies, Camille shares her knowledge of horse care and stable management with our staff and riders. Camille’s cheery personality and can-do attitude have been a welcome addition to Team RMF.

ALEX LEBOVIC
GUEST RIDER AND COACH

Originally from Southern California, Alex has 20 years of professional experience working with horses and riders of all levels. After spending a few years working as a technology executive, she returned to the sport full time in 2020. As a junior, Alex rode with Diane Langer and later was a working student for Cyndi Merritt. During her professional career, Alex has been part of a number of wonderful programs - including Meadowgrove Farm and Karen Healey Stables.

Grooming Staff

Round Meadow Farm is fortunate to have a full-time staff of grooms that have been with our program for over 20 years.  With attention to detail as their main directive, our grooms make sure our equine partners want for nothing.
